Signing Ideas for Bridal Shower Guests
- At a cooking themed or kitchen bridal shower, use plates to serve as a guest book for shower guests to sign. For decorative plates, which can be mounted on a wall or shelf in a charming grouping, pass around one or two white plates and a metallic paint pen, allowing guests to sign their name and leave well-wishes. For a complementary gift idea, instruct shower guests to each bring a plate in colors that complement the bride's dining room color scheme, which she can then use to create a decorative plate wall centered around the signature-bearing plate. For a more functional gift, use a dishwasher-safe pen specifically designed to be used on food-bearing plates.
- In each bridal shower invitation, include two note cards, sized to fit in a photo album. Instruct guests to inscribe a recipe on one, and a signed message on the other. Ask them to bring the cards to the shower; out-of-town invitees or others who are unable to attend can return them with the RSVP card. Compile all the cards in a sturdy photo album, pairing each recipe with the guest's funny, sentimental or inspirational message.
- For an eclectic or naturally-inclined bride, a charming bowl of rocks --- signed by each of her guests --- will fit perfectly in her home. Purchase or collect a bowl of smooth stones, allowing at least one for each guest, and wash and dry them before the bridal shower. At the shower, scatter them on the tables, collect them in bowls on each table, or gather in a central guest book location, and provide permanent markers so guests can sign them. Leave a few decorated rocks about, bearing signatures, doodles and short messages, so guests are inspired.
- Provide a Polaroid camera at the bridal shower and snap a picture of each guest. To go all out, provide a box of picture enhancers --- like tiaras, paper mustaches, wooden hearts or alphabet blocks for spelling out words and phrases --- that guests can use as props. Write the guest's name on the bottom of the photograph, and mount it on a piece of scrapbook paper. Let guests decorate their pages with stickers, markers and messages, and compile in a thoughtful photographic scrapbook.
