How to Add a Live Feed on BlogSpot
- 1). Launch your Web browser and go to the website or specific Web page that contains the RSS, Really Simple Syndication, feed that you want to add to your blog. Many websites and online news services offer a directory of RSS news feeds that you can access from the “Feeds” link on the main navigation menu. Otherwise, look for the orange RSS button on a specific page.
- 2). Right-click the RSS button or directory page feed text link, then select “Save Target As” or “Save Link As” from the context menu to copy the feed address.
- 3). Sign into your Blogger account to launch the default Dashboard page with a list of all your Blogger blogs. Click “Design” under the name of the blog to which you want to add the live feed.
- 4). Find your preferred location for the live feed on the page layout displayed on the Blogger Add and Arrange Page Elements page. Click the “Add a Gadget” link at this location to launch the Add a Gadget dialog box. Click “Basics” in the menu on the left.
- 5). Scroll to the “Feed” gadget in the dialog box. Click the “+” plus button beside the gadget title to open the Feed gadget configuration window.
- 6). Paste the feed address you copied in step 2 into the “Feed URL” input field. Click the orange “Continue” button. Wait for Blogger to retrieve the feed and display the contents. Click the arrow button next to “Show” and select the number of feed items that you want to display from the drop-down list. Click the applicable check boxes if you want to show item dates, authors and to open feed links in a new window. Click the orange “Save” button to store your preferences and add the live feed to your blog.
