How to Mount a Whirlpool Washing Machine With a Drawer
- 1). Disconnect the power to the washing machine.
- 2). Disconnect the water lines using channel lock pliers.
- 3). Disconnect the drain hose and empty it into a bucket.
- 4). Pull the washing machine away from the wall.
- 5). Spread the blanket out on the floor behind the washer. Tilt the washer back until it is laying, back down, on the blanket. You will need assistance for this.
- 1). Unscrew the feet from the bottom of the washer with channel lock pliers.
- 2). Remove the pedestal drawer from the box and open it. Remove the screws attaching the drawer to the rails with a Phillips screwdriver. There are two screws, one on either side. Remove the drawer and set it aside. Push the drawer sliders back into place. Put the screws in a cup or other container so you don't misplace them.
- 3). Install two of the 5/8-inch hex screws that came with the pedestal into the holes on the back edge of the bottom of the washer. Use a 5/8-inch wrench to turn the screws until they are sticking out from the bottom of the washer about 3/8 of an inch.
- 4). Turn the pedestal frame up and lay it flat on its back. Align the top of the frame with the bottom of the washer and insert the screws heads you installed in Step 3 into the keyhole slots on the top of the pedestal frame. Raise the frame up to seat the hex screws.
- 5). Screw the two remaining 5/8-inch hex screws up through the holes on the top front of the pedestal frame and into the base of the washer frame. Use a 5/8-inch wrench to tighten all the hex screws.
- 6). Lift the washer and reconnect the drain hose and water lines. Slide the washer back into place. Ensure the pedestal feet are making contact with the floor. Use channel lock pliers to loosen the foot lock nut and turn the foot shaft to make adjustments.
- 7). Reassemble the pedestal drawer using the screws you removed earlier. Slide the drawer into place.
