How to Mystery Braid
- 1). Place the leather strip on your workspace. Measure 1 inch down from the top end. Make two evenly spaced cuts along the length of the leather to create three even strings in the leather strip. Stop the cuts 1 inch before the bottom end of the leather strip.
- 2). Insert the bottom end between the right-most string and the middle string and pull it through. This will create a twist in the strings.
- 3). Braid the leather strips together. Working from the top, take the left-most string and cross it over the middle string to switch their places. Cross the right-most strand over the middle strand so they switch places. Move the left-most strand and cross it over the middle. Continue braiding in this pattern until 2 inches is left on the leather between the bottom of the braid and the bottom closed end.
- 4). Hold the left-most strand away from the middle and right strands to make a gap. Insert the bottom of the leather strip from the front through the gap.
- 5). Pull the top and bottom ends to make the braid taut.
