3 Keys to Effective Time Management in Your Home Based Business

Effective time management is a vital skill that you need to learn if you want to be successful in your home based business. With all of the different ways to save time, it can be a big time waster trying to remember them all.

Here are 3 simple things that you can implement immediately to start managing your time more effectively in your home based business.

1. Write a daily "To Do List"- If you do not have a To Do List you will be all over the place and have an unproductive business.

It sounds simple, but it is the simple things that can make a huge difference in your life and in your home based business.

The best time to write out your To Do List is at night before you go to sleep.

If you write your to do list in the morning when you wake up, then your brain will not be completely active, and you will waste valuable time trying to remember all of the things that you need to do.

On the other hand, if you already have your To Do List written out from the night before you can get right to it.

2. Schedule everything- You want to schedule everything from checking email to picking up your kids from school.

There are 3 big time wasters that you definitely want to schedule: Checking email, talking on the phone, and chatting online.

Checking email is an obvious time waster. If you have your email open in a browser while you are working on your business, you will be tempted to check it every so often.

Instead schedule and hour per day, 30 minutes several time per day, or one block of time per week to  read and respond to your email. The amount of time that you need to schedule depends on how much you rely on email.

Each person has different needs, which is why each person has a different to do list.

You do not have to answer every phone call.  Schedule a time to return those phone calls instead.

Social media can be an asset to your business, but it can also be a huge time waster if you spend a lot of time chatting.  Schedule time for your social media activities, and outsource those tasks as soon as possible.

3. Prioritize your "To Do List"- Number all of your tasks on your To Do List, including personal tasks and business tasks.

Next choose the top 5 things that you must accomplish each day in your home based business to move you closer to your business goals.

Be sure to complete those 5 things every days.  Since we are creatures of habit you will need to commit to making these daily actions a habit.

If you do, you will see some amazing results in your business.

Much Success.
