How to Convert Shockwave to Flash
- 1). Direct a web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to a web file conversion page. Media-convert (see Resources) is one of these pages, and it allows its users to convert many video formats, including SWF and FLV.
- 2). Click on the gray "Choose File" selection in the upper-left of the page. In the pop-up menu, pick SWF as your input video type. Browse your computer to locate the SWF file and click "Enter" to make your decision.
- 3). Choose SWF as the Input type for your uploaded file. You can find the menu for this directly to the right of the "Choose File" option. Ideally, Media-convert should automatically understand that you wish to upload a SWF. However, sometimes it doesn't, so reselect SWF from the menu to double check.
- 4). Choose between "PC" and "Mac" for your video output format in the selection window. To its right, pick out FLV as your output format. Click the "Go" button on the right side of the page after you've decided on your preferences. The conversion bar will begin to fill up as the file becomes an FLV. After the bar fills and the conversion is complete, the new FLV file will appear on your desktop.
