      Summer Studio looks to expand the participants' expertise in fashion design while encouraging the creative side of each designer to shine through. During the five-day program, participants explore their talent in fashion design. Days are spent working on solo and group projects in the participants' areas of interest, while the nights are spent at planned social activities.The program concludes with a portfolio show of each student's work that is evaluated by a panel of professionals to determine the winner of a scholarship to the Art Institute of Indianapolis. Overall, Summer Studio provides the opportunity to discover the intricacies of fashion design through interactive projects and exposure to a skilled staff that encourages students to develop their creative talent.

    • Ideally positioned in the northwest part of Indianapolis, the Summer Studio program takes place at the Art Institute of Indianapolis in a complex called The Pyramids. It is next to I-465 for easy travel and within minutes of downtown. The venue is more than 15,000 square feet, boasting studios, classrooms, offices and a student lounge. Students have the opportunity to use this state-of-the-art venue to showcase their talents.

    Costs, Housing and Transportation

    • It is each student's responsibility to have transportation arranged at the beginning and end of the week-long program. With housing optional, any participants choosing not to stay will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the venue each day. As of 2010, the total cost of the Summer Studio program was $375 without housing or $650 with housing. Students staying with the program are housed adjacent to the Art Institute of Indianapolis, and transportation is provided each day. The program is inexpensive when compared to similar ones in other areas of the United States.
