How to Make Gift Certificates for Kids
- 1). Decide what the gift certificate will be redeemable for. Certificates can be redeemable for actual items like toys or games or for special trips, such as to a museum or movie. Certificates can also be redeemable for special privileges like second helpings of dessert.
- 2). Write the gift certificate. You can write the gift certificate by hand, or print it using a computer. Be sure that the writing is neat and legible. Include the name of the recipient, what the certificate is redeemable for and information about when the certificate can be redeemed, if you like. Adding a border and a date at the top can give the certificate an official touch. You should also include a message pertaining to the reason for presenting the certificate such as "Happy Birthday!" or "Congratulations."
- 3). Decorate the gift certificate. For younger children, you may want to make the gift certificate colorful and playful using craft materials such as feathers or glitter. Older children may appreciate a more official looking gift certificate which can be achieved using colored pens and stickers to simulate an official seal.
- 4). Present the gift certificate to the child. Make sure that you have made the proper preparations to redeem the gift certificate when necessary.
