Fresh Coffee and Caffeine Coming Right Up

So you've done your research online, browsed the home goods stores and decided what coffee maker to purchase - now what? It's time to think about brewing the freshest, tastiest cup of coffee ever.
For people that need and love their daily dose of java pick me up, taste is everything.
Also for people looking to save some money, brewing your coffee at home is not only cost effective but can be exciting as well! There are a few tips and ideas to think about when talking coffee and I'll touch on a few here today.
First, let's talk about buying coffee.
When purchasing coffee, it's a good idea to ask when it was roasted.
A rule of thumb is, generally coffee is best if it is consumed a mere day or two after roasting.
You may now be wondering how to keep coffee fresh after day one then.
Well, coffee that is kept in an air tight container should not diminish in taste until about day nine or ten.
Next let's think about grinding those delicious beans.
It's wise to grind only the beans you will be using for immediate brewing.
This is because once beans are ground; the flavorful and tasty oils are exposed to air, which can dissipate the flavor of your coffee.
That's why it's almost imperative for the freshest cup of Joe to buy the beans instead of the already ground option, because once coffee is ground it will begin to lose its flavor almost immediately.
Now for that extra coffee you have on hand, let's think about storage.
Coffee should always be stored in a dry, clean, airtight container in a dark, cool place.
Many people believe that storing in the refrigerator is a good idea, but that is a common misconception.
Coffee will absorb flavors and aromas from the food in your fridge.
Freezing coffee can also damage your beans as well.
The best bet is a Tupperware container in an enclosed cupboard or pantry.
One thing to remember is to have fun! Many coffee companies today offer a variety of flavored beans that add a special touch of taste.
Vanilla, Hazelnut, Irish Cream, and Caramel are just a few of the options on the market today.
Also there is a variety of delicious creamers to sweeten that pot of Java and help you with a pick me up to skip merrily about your day.
