Three Ways To Relax
There are probably as many different ways to relax as there are people in the world.
Everyone has their own idea of what the best ways are to relax and manage stress.
The three ways outlined here are my favorites.
Maybe you'll get some ideas from reading this about how you can better manage your stress.
1.
Meditate Meditating doesn't necessarily mean that you sit cross-legged on the floor and chant for hours on end.
It can be as simple (and as quick) as sitting comfortably, closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing for ten to 25 breaths.
Doing this can release tension in your muscles, lower your blood pressure, slow your heart rate and just make you feel better in general.
2.
Take a hot bath Being submerged in warm water can be very soothing.
Also, the buoyant effect you get from the water can cause your muscles to let go of all of the stress they're carrying.
Light a few candles and turn off the lights in the bathroom.
The lower light level can be very calming.
3.
Laugh They say that laughter is the best medicine and it's true.
When you're stressed out, you may not feel like laughing.
If you can maneuver yourself into a situation where laughter comes naturally, you'll wind up feeling much better.
So call your funniest friend on the phone, read some jokes on the internet or watch a funny movie.
If you can get yourself laughing, your stress will disappear.
