How to Paint the Exterior of a Mobile Home

Vinyl - Aluminum - Wood?
Determine what the exterior of your mobile home is made of. Typical materials include:
~ Vinyl
~ Aluminum
~ Wood - 2
Paint Scraper
Scrape any loose paint off of all surfaces with a paint scraper. - 3
Power Washer
Clean the outside of your home by washing off the dirt with a power washer or a water hose with a sprayer. DO NOT spray your house with water if the siding is made of wood. The wood will absorb too much water. - 4
Latex paint
Choose your paint. In most cases latex paint will be the perfect choice for your home. If your home happens to be made of steel or some other surface that will rust, you will need an oil-based primer and paint. - 5
Take Your Time!
PAINT:
~ Paint your home in stages so as not to overtax yourself.
~ Paint the areas around windows, doors, etc. first with a small roller or brush
~ Finish by painting the larger surfaces with a roller if possible.
