Modeling Contests

Why should you enter a modeling contest? There are a few different reasons a model or a photographer might consider entering a modeling contest.
First it is a good way to get discovered by a major magazine, fashion or modeling venue.
It is a good way to boost your portfolio by adding some credibility to some of your photographs.
It is also a valuable way to gain feedback or critique on your photos.
Then the third and most obvious reason is to win the prize that the contest is offering, which will differ based on each contest and sponsor.
What is a good way to win these contests? This is going to be general advice because some of the contests will have very specific criteria that you need to follow.
It is important first of all that you follow the rules of the contest.
This means that if you are a model you don't show more skin than you are allowed to and that your photograph is the correct size and resolution.
As a photographer you need to make sure the photographs that you submit meet the same eligibility requirements.
The next important piece of advice that I am going to stress is that the image is as high of a resolution (more pixels = higher quality) as the contest allows and you are capable of uploading.
I can't tell you how many times I have seen entries in these contests that are blurry or too small.
Next you want to submit photos that accentuate your best features.
As crude as it sounds, you want to make sure you show enough skin to get the voters attention.
I wouldn't go any further than a bikini though or you run the risk of the shot being viewed as trashy and not model-worthy.
If you follow these general rules of advice you should be winning modeling contests in no time.
Where can you center a modeling contest? There are tons of modeling contests at bars and clubs across the country for amateur models to show off their stuff.
Radio stations and TV stations often have their own modeling contests seasonally.
These aren't the best type though because they rarely provide any feedback or criticism.
I recommend that you find a good talent website such as http://www.
trifame.
com
.
They have contests for models, musicians, and dancers that are sponsored by industry professionals.
When you win one of their contests you are often featured in a magazine shoot.
They also have an active community that votes on your content and provides you feedback through comments and private messages.
