How to Jailbreak a Second Generation iPhone
- 1). Back up your videos and music along with any other meaningful files to a specific place on the main hard drive of your PC or Mac.
- 2). Plug your iPhone USB cord into the USB port of your computer. Wait until you receive a prompt on your computer detecting the iPhone.
- 3). Download the ISPW firmware that you currently have on your Second Generation iPhone to your computer.
- 4). Download the jailbreaking software named "RedSnow." As soon as the download is complete, extract and store the folder into the same folder you store the ISPW firmware file. This will help you find files easier later on.
- 5). Execute the "redsn0w.exe" file and install its packages. A prompt will then come into view requiring you to use the ISPW firmware file you previously downloaded. Select the "browse" option, find where you stored the file and select it.
- 6). Click "Next" when you see the prompt that reads "ISPW successfully identified." Wait for the second load screen to come into view and select "Cydia" option from the list of boxes.
- 7). Confirm that your iPhone is not powered on and select the "Next" option once more. This will begin the jailbreak process. Once that is finished, you have completed jailbreaking your Second Generation iPhone.
