Self Improvement.....This is How You Start
Vision, Mission and Purpose
Your vision is the loftiest expression of what you truly want for your life. It is your mental picture of hope and optimism, of the ideal. You may be familiar with Ralph Waldo Emerson's famous words, "Where there is no vision, the people perish."
Your life purpose relates to what you are meant to do in your life, as you feel it in your heart.
A mission statement reflects what and how you contribute to the world. It is based on how you are implementing your life purpose.
A vision would relate more to how the owner would like their business to be in the future. You might have a vision for your business or profession to spread around the world, impacting people everywhere in a positive way.
Purpose is the core of both the mission and the vision. It is often found in the heart and soul of the business founder. Perhaps he or she lost a parent to an illness that could have been treated with the right products, so the founder wants to offer products which can help save other people's lives. Or maybe the founder has a burning desire to excel and make a difference; this will have a large impact on how the business is conducted. Doing your purpose will make you feel good about yourself, because you'll be serving others the best way that you can, in line with your talents and abilities.
It's All About Values
Fundamental to vision, mission and purpose are your core values. Values are the qualities you consider most significant
and they have tremendous impact on your dreams. They shape your attitudes, beliefs and relationships. Know what you value most when planning your ideal life. Start by including what is most important to you. So what are your core values?
