- The act makes it so the time frame to bring forth a personal injury law suit with regards to disability is three years from the date of the disability. Three years is also the amount of time an individual has to bring a personal injury law suit if the case involves fatal injury.
- The act is retroactive in its establishment, meaning it applies to all potential personal injury law suits that may have arisen before the act was passed and all future law suits.
- The act was passed by the Irish Parliament on July 10, 1991. It is an amendment to the Statue of Limitations Act of 1957 and also the Civil Liability Act of 1961.
