- 1). Blot the Coke with a dry paper towel, removing as much as you can. When you can't remove any more Coke from the carpet this way, pour club soda over the stain. Use just enough to cover it.
- 2). Blot the stain again with dry paper towels to pull the moisture off the carpet. Club soda works on most kinds of carpet stains, according to Carpet.org.
- 3). Pour club soda on the stain again if you still see any discoloration from the Coke on the carpet. If not, wet a sponge in cool water and place just a drop of dish detergent on the sponge. Rub this over the carpet to finish cleaning up any sticky residue.
- 4). Wet a cloth in cool water. Use this cloth to rinse off the soap residue by gently rubbing the carpet.
