How to Refurbish a Shuffleboard

    • 1). Rub sandpaper all over the shuffleboard with even pressure. The lower the grit, the rougher the surface, so if the shuffleboard is very damaged, you'll need a low-grit sandpaper to smooth out uneven surfaces. Dust off all the loose particles after sanding.

    • 2). Mark out the shuffleboard lines with painter's tape. Run the edge of the tape on both sides of the shuffleboard lines, and paint gently in between with a 1/2 flat paintbrush. Be careful not to drip outside the lines.

    • 3). Polish the shuffleboard base with wood polish, or coat with a layer of lacquer. A clear polish is best so the lines underneath won't be tinted. The first time you play on a slick board, the game may go faster than you'd like.
