Crafts for Tea Party Hats

A tea party gives ladies of all ages a chance to dress up, wear a prettily decorated hat and enjoy an afternoon with friends. Attendees can wear a decorated hat to reflect the theme of the party or a hostess may ask guests to bring a plain hat to be decorated as an activity at the event. A party goer can decorate her hat with silk or real flowers. One flower or a cluster of them can be attached to the hat. Glue dots or hot glue can be used to attach silks to a straw hat. Fresh flowers will be pinned to the hat with corsage or hat pins. Silk flowers should be sewn to a felt hat. Hats can have ribbon wrapped around and tied in a bow at the back. Children can decorate hats with stickers, feathers, rhinestones and beads. Adhesive tape, dots and strips will allow children to craft safely and stick items to straw hats. Lace, ribbon roses, cording and thin boas can be secured to tea party hats. - A guest may be invited to a tea party that requests that you bring a hat that is decorated for a contest. Tea party hats can be decorated with an artificial bird's nest with plastic eggs, a hen or Alice in Wonderland inspired articles. A miniature tea set can be glued on to a lace covering on the top and brim of a hat. Paper tea bag folded articles can be glued to a hat for a completely different artistic display.
