The Apprentice Recap -- Season Six, Episode 10
Bye, Bye Love
Kinetic is now down to just 3 wannabes so James, as Arrow's PM, was informed that he must send someone from his team over to Kinetic to even things out. James picked Nicole, thereby throwing a major wrench into the budding showmance between Tim and Nicole. Frankly, we thought that was the most exciting thing to have happened in the 'Ticole' pairing (or on this show for the matter) so far.
More Nonsensical Ramblings from Trump
We think our favorite part of the show (and we use 'favorite part' lightly) is when Trump gets to wax nonsensically before telling the teams what their task will be. Last week, we got the 'fired like a dog' line. This week, we had Trump declaring that he should have his footprints outside of Grauman's Chinese Theater because no one was a bigger star than him since he has the 'number one show.' Someone really needs to give Trump more current information.
Sell, Sell, Sell!
Teams were tasked with selling passes to Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. And you guessed it - whoever sells the most wins.
Stationary versus Mobile
Nicole, determined to stick it to Arrow, especially James, for shipping her off to Kinetic, told her new teammates that Arrow will put up a big display with signs. She was right. To counter this, she pitched the idea of having the four Kinetic wannabes use roller blades and roller skates to move around and get sales that way. Angela, Kinetic's new PM, seemed to love this idea.
It's War!
It is an all-out sales war, with both teams scrambling to sell the passes. Arrow offered free water, and both teams tried to steal customers away from each other. However, we found Kinetic's strategy flawed, at least from what we could see. It appeared that they were selling in very close proximity to Arrow, allowing Arrow to interfere with some of their sales pitches. If the whole point of being on roller skates and roller blades was to be mobile, why not move around and AWAY from Arrow's stationary kiosk to get the sales?
Immoral Sales?
Kinetic sold about $24, 450.00 worth of passes to Arrow's $31, 360. Angela whined that she found Arrow's strategy 'immoral.' Nobody seemed to be buying it, particularly the Trumps (Ivanka returned for the whole show this time) who called it 'just business.' Also, Angela? It's a COMPETITION. Of course they're gonna try and steal some customers from you, because they're trying to win! As a gold medalist, we're pretty sure we don't have to explain this basic premise to you.
Helicopter Tour
For their reward, Arrow got a helicopter tour of Los Angeles. They tried to seem enthusiastic but we think they were as bored on the tour as we were watching it.
Why Didn't You Fight For Me?
The bloom is off the rose of Ticole's showmance when Nicole angrily told Tim that she was upset with him (and Frank) for not fighting for her to stay with Arrow when James announced his decision. In turn, Tim is upset that Nicole would even consider this, saying it doesn't make sense to him. Things have taken a decidedly frigid turn in that relationship folks.
Undermining Himself
Stefani (yes, she's still around and is exemplifying the 'flying under the radar' strategy) remarked at Arrow's pre-Boardroom pow-wow that they are all here to win this and to do so, they have to take each other out so personal feelings can't come into play. No sooner had she done that then Tim went scurrying over to the hedge to inform Nicole that James might be going after her in the Boardroom for the 'mobile sales' idea. Frank is not happy with Tim's display of misplaced chivalry and we have to agree. All Tim did was undermine himself with his teammates.
Another Reason This Isn't a Real Job Interview
If this was a real job interview, Nicole would have been able to sue - and no doubt win - for the slew of inappropriate questions and comments Trump directed her way regarding her showmance with Tim, including 'are you in love with Tim?' Trump seemed more interested in delving into the wannabes' love lives than anything, which we find amusing. Who knew Trump was such a gossip?
Weakest Boardroom Performance To Date
Angela decided to place the blame for the loss solely on Nicole's shoulders for coming up with the roller skating idea. Nicole (as well as everyone else in the Boardroom) rightfully pointed out that Angela was the PM and should have caught this kind of mistake early on and corrected it. Trump practically begged Angela to give him a reason, any reason, not to fire he because he didn't want to 'fire an Olympian' and all Angela could muster was 'we went in the wrong direction.' We don't often understand a lot of Trump's firings but this one we could.
