How to Clean Your Carpets Effectively?

Carpets can be red, white, green, round, square, woolen, plushy and so on. They could bring style and warmth in your home and make it unique. There is only one problem when it comes to carpeting. The cleaning. Here are my favorite carpet cleaning tips.
1. What type is your rug?
The first thing you have to do is to check out your carpet. The cleaning technique depends on the type of your carpet. So don't miss that step before starting to clean it.
If you have woolen carpet, remember one very important thing - don't wash it with hot water, because it will shrink. Use only cold water and you will not damage it. And don't use abrasive cleaners that could damage the carpet's fibers.
And if you have synthetic carpet, don't use sticky or greasy cleaners, because you will damage the carpet's fibers.

2. Get rid of stains.
Red wine, chocolate, spaghetti sauce, etc. These are your carpet's enemies. Here are my favorite tips to remove the stains. And when you decide which one to choose, first define your carpet's type.
I prefer using club soda, because this is one of the most harmless ways to remove stains. It doesn't damage the carpet and doesn't have odor.
The vinegar and soap react very good and can lift every stain. They can remove really persistent coloring.
The white wine is the best way to remove red wine stains. You may not believe but the white wine can neutralize the red coloring on your carpet.
Dissolve a little ammonia in warm water and apply on the chocolate stain. Then absorb with blotting paper and don't scrub because you will make the stain bigger.

3. Vacuuming and washing
Vacuum your rugs once or twice a week. The washing could be done every month when it is hot and it could dry off quickly. The winter is the most inappropriate time to wash your carpeting. After vacuuming, choose carefully the cleaning technique you will use, using step one to define the type of your carpets and rugs.

4. Allergies
Even if you vacuum once or twice a week, the dust cannot be removed completely. You have to decrease the chance of allergies, if you get outside your carpets and beat them with heavy stick or tennis racket. The collected dust will get out really fast. This is the best way to proteect your family's health and to provide them allergens free surrounding.
