How to Add a Link to a Twitter Post
- 1). Click "Sign in" in the upper right corner of the Twitter homepage, and enter your user name and password. Then click "Sign in" to open your Twitter account.
- 2). Copy the URL from the site you would like to link to. Next, visit a site like is.gd or tiny.cc, and paste the URL into the dialog box. Click "shorten," and your URL will be reduced to about 25 characters, much shorter than it originally was. Then, copy the new URL.
- 3). Paste the shortened URL into the dialog box on your Twitter page, add a description of the link, and then click "Tweet" to send the message and link out to all your followers.
- 1). Open your Twitter API client, like TweetDeck, and sign in. Opening the program may automatically sign you in if you previously selected to be remembered.
- 2). Copy the link of the site you want to share. Paste the entire link, including "http://www."
- 3). Select the leftmost of the four buttons under the dialog box. When your cursor hovers over the button, it should read, "Auto URL Shortening - ON." Type in a summary of the link, then paste the full link into the dialog box. TweetDeck will automatically shorten the link for you. Click "Send," and your link and message will be sent into the Twittersphere.
