Is wholesale dog food the answer to a cheaper alternative for your childâEUR(TM)s best friends hunger pains? Is the concept of more genuinely always better? If I consider the rate my puppy eats I sometimes wonder. Will solving one problem unavoidably create another?
Puppies and Eating Habits
I seem to be constantly on the run to the store for puppy food. I buy a small bag of food, approximately 2kg, purely for the reason that it is easier to keep fresh and dry than a 10kg bag. The root of my problem is that this little puppy does not seem to know when to stop eating. Whenever anyone else in the house seems to be eating, the little mister thinks it is munch time for him too. I do realize they are easily inclined to overeat, but it does seem cruel to eat and not put something in his bowel as well, even if it is just a little bit.
Who can resist the little pleading puppy eyes?

I can purchase a quantity small pack of food, still keep the food fresh, dry and always have food on hand. This way I might actually save as well as make my life easier. I can spare myself a trip to the shops, save a few bucks and make it look as though I am well organized and have it all sorted.
The Downfall
The obvious downfall to this brilliant plan of mine is that there is always food on hand. This with a puppy that is always hungry causes a bit of panic in my home. I have told every one of the kids that the dog is their responsibility, and now every one gives the dog food whenever they think he must be hungry, which is all the time! The dog thinks it is in paradise, and I cannot understand how this poor dog can move through so much food in so little time, until I saw my lawnâEUR¦
We found the solution after much deliberation. The puppy has set eating times and a set amount with a measuring cup in the food bag, with a schedule that the kids can follow to see who gives food when, and whoâEUR(TM)s turn it is to clean up after the dog. One thing is for sure, my name is nowhere on the schedule, and I can go on buying dog food at wholesale prices to fit my budget.
