- 1). Type "<" and "3" one after the other. The heart symbol will not show up until you post the message, at which point it will change from a side arrow and a "3" into an upright solid heart symbol. You can use this key combination to create as many hearts as you want in a single post.
- 2). Copy and paste the heart using an existing symbol. You can use the copy and paste function by highlighting an existing heart that someone has posted, right-clicking, selecting "Copy" and then right-clicking again on your text box and clicking "Paste". Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcuts for copy ("Ctrl-C") and paste ("Ctrl-V") for Windows users, or "Command-C" then "Command-V" for Mac users.
- 3). Use special character keyboard shortcuts. This works only on Windows computers, and you will need to activate your "Num Lock" before trying. Once it is on, hold down the "Alt" button, then type "3." This should produce a heart symbol that will appear when you post your Facebook message or status update.
