- 1). Chop the green tea leaves into small pieces.
- 2). Add 1 1/2 heaping teaspoons of leaves for each cup of water. This ratio produces a mild tasting tea and is a good starting point. For more or less green tea flavor in your recipe, increase or reduce the amount of leaves per cup of water.
- 3). Boil the tea for 30 minutes.
- 4). Strain the leaves from the tea using a metal strainer. Set the leaves aside. They can be added to stir fries or other dishes. They also make a delicious garnish sprinkled over eggs or pasta dishes.
