How to Repair Red Concrete Cracks

    • 1). Put on all of your safety gear, and then widen and deepen the existing crack. Attach the diamond blade to the grinder before plugging it in. Turn it on low until you get a feel for its intensity and movement. Move it all around in slow motions until the crack is fairly deep and wide.

    • 2). Use a wire brush to wipe away the concrete dust. Soak the area and do not wait for it to dry. Allowing the existing concrete to soak up the water will prevent it from taking the moisture out of the fresh concrete once applied.

    • 3). Make the concrete mix in the bucket at a ratio of three parts Portland cement, two parts sand and one part water. Begin with small amounts of water so the mixture does not become too loose.

    • 4). Place the concrete into the crack using the thin putty knife. Push the mix all the way into the bottom and corners of the crack.

    • 5). Trowel over the surface to smooth out the fresh concrete and even out the surface.
