How to Thread a Plastic Canvas Needle
- 1). Wash and dry your hands thoroughly to keep the yarn for your project clean.
- 2). Cut the end of the yarn with sharp scissors at a slight angle in the same direction as the yarn is twisted. If there are any fuzzy pieces hanging from the sides of the yarn, cut those as well.
- 3). Place a drop of anti-frizz glue, designed for keeping fabric from fraying, to the end of the yarn. Work the glue into the yarn so it becomes part of the yarn and does not make it thicker. Let the glue dry completely before trying to thread the needle.
- 4). Hold the needle firmly with one hand with the eye of the needle facing you. Hold the yarn in the other hand, pinching it with your fingers a half inch from the end of the yarn. Place a half inch of the end of the yarn through the eye of the needle. Reach to the back of the needle and pull the yarn through five to 10 inches. This will prevent the yarn from falling out of the needle. Trim the end of the yarn that you applied the glue to.
- 5). Be careful not to unthread your needle while you pull the amount of yarn needed from the ball. Cut the end of the yarn and knot it.
