New York State Bass Fishing Clubs

      The state of New York has numerous bass fishing opportunities and clubs to represent most regions in the state. Many of the clubs have professional and amateur teams that host and compete in tournaments around the state. The clubs also have meetings, social gatherings, seminars and fish outs. They offer members the opportunity to discuss bass fishing with local experts and find new fishing partners.

    Port City Bassmasters

    • The Port City Bassmasters is located in Central New York in the Oswego area. The club hosts and participates in tournaments with anglers acting as teams. Bass fisherman without access to a boat are welcome to join the club and are paired with anglers in possession of a boat for each tournament. The club requires a small annual fee for membership and fees are required for each tournament. The mission of the club is to educate anglers and promote tournament fishing. The club is a chapter of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and follows the rules of the national organization.

    Susquehanna Bass Association

    • The Susquehanna Bass Association is focused on tournament fishing as well as conservation and promotion of the sport. The club hosts an annual members only tournament and participates in other tournaments around the northeast region. The members only "Classic" only allows members who have participated in six tournaments throughout the year and have sold all of their raffle tickets. Membership requires a small annual fee and the club is limited to 75 members. The club also has annual elections for officers and members are required to follow the club rules. The majority of club members are experienced bass fisherman.

    Barge Canal Bassmasters

    • The Barge Canal Bassmasters welcomes anglers of all skill levels. The club has youth programs and promotes education, catch and release and conservation. The club also has a competitive team and participates in tournaments throughout the season. Small fees are required to join the club and separate fees are required for each tournament. Club fees support the club expenses as well as the BASS Federation Nation and the New York State BASS Chapter Federation. Fees for each tournament average 25 dollars. The club has regular meetings and provides a newsletter for the members. This club is a great option for anglers looking for instruction and new fishing partners.
