The Kind Diet Review - Can Alicia Silverstone Teach You How to Lose Weight?

The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone is called A simple guide to feeling great, losing weight, and saving the planet.
By the name alone you can see that this is not merely a weight loss guide but a book with a bigger purpose that fits in with the view point and ideology of the author.
Famous actress Alicia Silverstone took her own weight loss success and combined it with her perspective on what a modern diet should be and created the Kind Diet book.
Why is it called "Kind"? The reason is that Silverstone is an avid vegan and believes that a diet devoid of animal and fish is not only kind on animals but actually uses less resources and also is better for the environment and the planet in general.
There is merit to this approach as raising livestock for consumption does require tremendous resources and has an effect on the environment.
However, it also means that the Kind Diet is not for everyone.
If you are a meat eater, enjoy fish, and even dairy products the Kind Diet will not be a good match for you simply because you'll have to drastically change your eating habits.
If you feel ready for such a change, then by all means go for it, but if you're the kind of person who needs to have a burger on a twice-weekly basis, I wouldn't get this book.
If you're a vegan or a vegetarian, or thinking about adopting more of the veggie lifestyle, then this is a refreshing look at why this type of lifestyle may not just be healthy for you but good for the planet too.
Alicia Silverstone attributes her own weight loss results to this lifestyle but the possible benefits go way beyond losing a few simple pounds and may include: 1.
Better skin health and appearance.
2.
An improve digestive system.
3.
Greater energy level.
Unlike many of the more "extreme" vegans, Silverstone does not just preach her opinion but shows empathy as to the difficult nature of the transition to a plant based diet.
Therefore, she does include a 3 stage transition stage that readers may follow in their pursuit of a plant based eating routine.
The book is well written, includes detailed recipes and meal ideas, and has many highly positive reviews from readers.
Even if you're not planning on going Cold Turkey on all animal products, the Kind Diet may be worth reading.
