Do it Yourself Shrimp Net
- 1). Bend the wire into a circle with a 6-foot circumference. Leave 1-foot unbent on each free end of the wire.
- 2). Fold the large piece of netting in half widthwise. Round off the corners on the folded end with scissors and sew up the sides of the netting with needle and thread to make a net.
- 3). Bring the open end of the net inside the wire hoop and fold the ends of the net over the edge of the hoop. Sew the net in place with a needle and thread.
- 4). Line the inside edge of the hoop with the smaller piece of netting to make a flap. This will prevent shrimp from climbing out of the net. Sew the top edge of the netting around the edge of the circle with needle and thread, leaving the bottom edge free.
- 5). Drill two holes on opposite sides of the PVC pipe, about 1 inch from the end.
- 6). Pass the two free ends of the wire through the pipe's opening and out through the drilled holes. Pull the free ends tight so the circle is against the end of the pipe.
- 7). Wrap the wire around the pipe to secure the net in place.
