How to Bowl a Strike - The 4 Key Aspects

Most bowlers seek to improve their game.
Some may have some initial successes, but find that they are unable to get strikes so regularly.
Simply knowing how to bowl a strike is major step in becoming a better bowler and improving scores.
It is possible to get strikes sporadically with luck, but to get strikes regularly you have to understand your basic technique.
Here are few tips to follow to get the correct technique.
Stance: This is a fundamental step you must get right.
The right stance would allow the ball to travel in the right direction.
For a right hander, the right foot should aim at the front pin; similarly a left hander must point his left foot at the front pin.
Stay relaxed and keep your shoulder parallel to the foul line at the point of release.
Swing: Cradle the ball and move your arm backwards.
You need to take four steps before releasing the ball.
If you like to play with your right hand, move ahead with right foot, following with your left foot.
As you move ahead with left foot your swing is descending.
Take your next step with the right foot as the ball's force lifts your arm up.
Let the bowling ball go and get your left foot in front as a counterweight to retain your balance.
For a left handed bowler the steps are the same, only you start with your left foot instead of right.
Release: The timing of the release is very important.
Too early the ball loses energy for a strike, too late results in a misdirected throw.
The correct time is when you feel the gravitational pull at the weight of the ball.
Make certain your wrist is in a straight line and relaxed and that you are targeting for the strike region.
Follow Through: While releasing the ball, it is important to keep your eyes fixed at the front pin.
This will also help keeping your shoulders and feet aimed forward.
As already explained, to get a strike you have to be facing the pins! By practicing these simple techniques frequently, you could learn how to bowl a strike correctly and scoring highly will come naturally to you!
