How to Build a Table Saw Fence
- 1). Measure the length of your saw table front to back (parallel to the blade) with a tape measure.
- 2). Cut two strips of 3/4-inch plywood 4-inches wide by the length of your saw table.
- 3). Cut two strips of 3/4-inch plywood 2-1/2 inches wide by the length of your saw table.
- 4). Cut two squares of plywood 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches.
- 5). Drill a 1-inch hole directly in the center of each of the two small squares of plywood.
- 6). Assemble the four long strips of plywood into a 4-inch square tube (with the 4-inch boards connected to the 2-1/2 inch wide boards). The 2-1/2 inch boards will fit in-between the edges of the 4-inch boards. Connect the boards using a few 1-1/2 inch screws along each joint.
- 7). Insert the two small squares into the ends of the tube, one at each end, so that they are flush with the end of the tube. Attach with 1-1/2 inch wood screws.
- 8). Twist the crank section of the pipe clamp onto one end of the threaded pipe.
- 9). Insert the open end of the threaded pipe through both holes in the ends of the tube. Affix the butt end of the pipe clamp set to the open end of the pipe.

Position the fence onto the table saw so that the crank end of the clamp is at the front of the saw. Adjust the clamp so that both jaws will engage the table, and tighten the clamp to lock into place.
