How to Create a Web Video Gallery
- 1). Choose a video sharing website. Hundreds of such sites exist. Choose one that allows you to "embed" videos from that website into another. See the Resources section of this guide for some suggestions.
- 2). Create an account at your Web video sharing site of choice. You will be asked to create a user name, password and some basic biographical information (usually optional.)
- 3). Upload some videos to your Web video sharing account. You can usually do this via your main account homepage. You may be asked to upload video files of only a certain file type, like MP4 or WMV. If your videos are in a format not supported by your video sharing site of choice, you must convert them first. See the Resources section for some suggestions for video format conversion programs.
- 4). Provide titles and descriptions for the videos you uploaded in Step 3. You might also be asked for other optional details such as keywords describing your video, the time and date of the video contents and the geographical location of the video contents.
- 5). Your Web video sharing site of choice probably already displays your videos in a gallery. If so, you are done. If not, or if you prefer to display your videos on a website of your own making by using the video's embed code, go on to Step 6.
- 6). Find the "embed code" for each of the videos you want to display in a Web gallery on a website of your own making. "Embed code" is a block of HTML that you can copy and paste into an HTML document wherever you would like it to appear. The embed code can usually be found on the page where the video exists. Copy the embed code for each video to your computer's clipboard.
- 7). Paste the embed code for each video into the HTML of your website. You can either assign one video per page in your website and link to them from one main video gallery page, or you can embed multiple videos per page. For a faster-loading website, choose the former arrangement for your Web video gallery.
