- 1). Right-click the HTML file you want to edit. Select "Open With." Click the HTML editor you want to use and click "Open." You can use Notepad to edit the HTML.
- 2). Press "Ctrl" and "F" to open the search dialog window. Type "h1" in the search text box and press "Enter." The search scrolls down the file to the location of the sub-header tag. If no "h1" exists, you can add one to a sample file for this example.
- 3). Type the text you want to use between the opening "<h1>" tag and the closing "</h1>" tag. Press "Ctrl" and "S" to save the changes to the file.
- 4). Double-click the file on your computer to open the page in the computer's browser. This lets you review the sub-header changes and verify the results.
