- 1). Turn on your computer.
- 2). Plug the largest end of the USB sync cable that came with your iPod (or that you purchased) into the slot at the bottom of the iPod device.
- 3). Plug the other end of your USB sync cable into a USB port on your computer. The port is a rectangular slot that may be found on the front, back or side of the computer. You may have more than one USB port on your computer.
- 4). Open iTunes on your computer to transfer files to and from your iPod. If you don't have iTunes installed on your computer, you can download it from Apple's iPod site.
