- 1). Connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB connector cable and launch iTunes 8.2.
- 2). Press and hold the "Home" button and the "Power" button simultaneously for 10 seconds. Once 10 seconds has passed, let go of the "Power" button while still pressing the "Home" button. Your computer will display a message saying "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode." Click "OK."
- 3). Press and hold the "ALT" key on your computer as you click the "Restore" button in iTunes. Find your iPhone 3.0 firmware "IPSW" file on your computer, click "Open" and then click "Restore."
- 4). Ignore the error message (1015) following the restoration process and click "OK."
- 5). Run the "Command" prompt from the "Start" menu and type:
cd Desktop
iRecovery -s
