LDS Seminary Gifts
- Some families choose to bestow religious-themed gifts upon students when they finish seminary. A new copy of the Book of Mormon may do the trick, especially if it is inscribed with nice words of praise or encouragement. Stores sell easy scripture reference guides, handy calendars with quotes from the Book of Mormon and other religious-related items. Sometimes a framed picture of Jesus Christ is nice in this circumstance also.
- Depending on your student's sense of humor, you may want to add a novelty item into their gift selection. A novelty could be a T-shirt that reads "I survived Seminary" or a cup that says something similar. Many online and brick-and-mortar stores offer seminary-specific items like posters, shirts and magnets. If you have a special saying or phrase learned in your seminary, you could have it embossed on an item for your student.
- Because a student gives so much of his time to seminary, sometimes the best seminary gifts are those that student really wants. This could be a music instrument that he has been eyeing, a new piece of clothing or anything else along this vain that you may have noticed your student eyeballing. Pay attention to what the young person is interested in, then purchase something along those lines.
- A family heirloom can be a good present at the end of seminary. This present tells the student that he is an adult member of the family, worthy of carrying on a strong tradition. Family heirlooms don't have to be from generation past, either, for this to be a meaningful gift. It could be from a grandparent or parent, so long as the item is of some significance to the family and its value could be related to the student.
