Deramaxx Side Effects
- According to manufacturer clinical studies published on Drugs.com, dogs receiving the most common side effects of Deramaxx occur in less than 1 to 3 percent of dogs treated for osteoarthritis. Comparatively, as many as 10 percent of dogs given Deramaxx following surgery presented the common side effects.
- Common side effects of Deramaxx include vomiting, diarrhea, changes in stool color, changes in the frequency of drinking or urination, decreases in appetite, depression and listlessness.
- Other drugs that relieve pain or inflammation such as aspirin, caprofen, etodolac and predisone increase your dog's risk of side effects from Deramaxx. Avoid combining these medications.
- Infrequently, use of Deremaxx causes seizures in dogs. Collapsing or stupors are additional rare side effects of the drug.
- If your dog has a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, kidney or heart disease, blood disorders, protein deficiencies or dehydration, your veterinarian may not prescribe Deramaxx due to its side effects.
