How to Put a Master Volume Control Icon in a System Tray

- 1). Right-click on an empty portion of the taskbar and click "Properties."
- 2). Click the "Customize..." button to bring up the "Notification Area Icons" window.
- 3). Click the drop-down box next to the "Volume" list item and set the option to "Show icon and notifications." Click the "OK" button to show master volume control icon on the system tray.
- 1). Right-click on any empty spot of the taskbar and click "Properties."
- 2). Click the "Notification Area" tab to see the corresponding settings.
- 3). Click the "Volume" check box. Click the "OK" button to save the changes.
- 1). Click the Start menu and go to "Control Panel."
- 2). Click "Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices" and then click "Change the speaker settings."
- 3). Check the "Place volume icon in the taskbar" check box and click "OK" to commit the changes.
