How to Copy Songs From a CD to an iPod
- 1). Load the CD in iTunes. Insert a CD into your computer's internal disc drive. If iTunes does not open automatically, manually launch the program. The loaded CD will display under the "Devices" tab on the right pane.
- 2). Import songs from a CD into iTunes. Once iTunes recognizes the loaded CD, a dialog window will appear and ask you if you want to import the CD. Click "Yes." iTunes will convert each song into a digital file and add it to your music library.
- 3). Manage the copied songs in iTunes. Edit song properties (like "Genre") to suit your organizational preferences. Add the songs to a playlist or create a new one from them.
- 4). Upload the copied songs onto your iPod. Mount your iPod to your computer by attaching the dock connector. The connected iPod will display under the "Devices" tab on the right pane. Once the device is recognized, iTunes will automatically sync it and upload the imported CD songs onto the iPod. Users can also manually sync the iPod by right-clicking on the icon under the "Devices" tab and selecting "Sync."
- 5). Eject the iPod. Once the iTunes window indicates that the device sync has completed, safely remove the iPod by right-clicking on the device icon and selecting "Eject." Alternatively, users can click on the eject button alongside the iPod icon.
