How do I Use Bose 101 Speakers On a Computer?
- 1). Place the two Bose 101 speakers on the left and right sides of the computer monitor or laptop screen, at least 9 inches from the monitor to prevent interference as Bose recommends in the owner's guide.
- 2). Push the mini-plug on the Y-adapter into the computer's "Line Out" jack or use a headphone jack if connecting to a laptop.
- 3). Connect the two plugs on one end of the stereo cable to the jacks on the Y-adapter and plug the other ends of the cable into a set of audio inputs on the rear of the amp or receiver.
- 4). Cut two lengths of speaker cable for the pair of Bose 101 speakers and strip 1/2-inch of insulation from both ends.
- 5). Connect the two strands on one end of each speaker wire to the left speaker terminals on the back of the amp or receiver. One wire attaches to the red (positive) terminal and the other connects to the black (negative) terminal.
- 6). Hook up the other end of the wire to the Bose 101 on the left side of the computer. Push down on the two sliding terminal clips on the back of the 101 speaker to open holes for inserting the wires. The wire from the positive terminal on the amp or receiver connects to the red terminal on the back of the Bose and the other wire connects to the black terminal.
- 7). Repeat the wire connections for the right-hand Bose 101 speaker.
- 8). Plug in the electrical cord for the amp or receiver to a power outlet.
