How to Keep an iPod From AutoSync When You Connect
- 1). Hook the iPod, using its USB cable, to the computer.
- 2). Launch iTunes on the computer.
- 3). Hold down the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys to prevent the iPod from automatically syncing ("Command" and "Option" on a Mac).
- 4). Click the iPod's icon in "Source" section of iTunes. A "Summary" view will appear in the main pane.
- 5). Check the box to the left of "Manually Manage Music and Videos," located in the "Summary" pane. This disables automatic sync.
