The Cadillac Escalade was originally introduced for the 1999 model-year as General Motors full-size luxury SUV to compete against the Lincoln Navigator. By the 2007 model-year the Escalade was entering its third generation. The 2007 Escalade was based around GM's all new GMT 900 platform which replaced the outgoing GMT 600 type. - The 2007 Cadillac Escalade is powered by a 6.2L V8 powerplant.
