How to Troubleshoot an HP 2300 Printer
- 1). Open the printer's top cover. Remove the print cartridge and place it on a level surface with a piece of paper over the cartridge.
- 2). Pull up on the black plastic flap located just below where the print cartridge sits, and pull out any stuck paper underneath. Push the tab back down to its original location
- 3). Open the printer's back door and pull out any stuck paper. Turn the small plastic wheel at the right side of the printer's back door opening to move paper that you cannot pull out.
- 4). Reinstall the print cartridge and close the printer's back door and top cover. Pull paper tray 2 completely out of the bottom of the printer.
- 5). Pull on the green plastic lever on the left side of paper tray 2's opening. Pull out any stuck paper in the paper tray's cavity.
- 6). Use both hands to push the plastic flap inside tray 2's cavity up until it clicks into place. Replace paper tray 2 in its cavity.
- 1). Look at the printer's display screen to verify it is not showing any printer errors, such as a paper jam.
- 2). Unplug the printer's power cord from any power strips, surge protectors or backup power sources. Plug the printer's power cord directly into a nearby electrical outlet.
- 3). Unplug any phone lines going into the printer, since the noise may be from line interference. After waiting 15 seconds, plug the phone line back into the printer.
- 4). Plug the printer into an electrical outlet on another circuit if the printer still performs slowly.
