How Do You Remove Songs from Your iPod Shuffle?

    • 1). Connect your iPod Shuffle to your computer via USB and open iTunes, if it does not open automatically.

    • 2). Click the iPod Shuffle in the list of devices located on the left panel of iTunes and then click the "Summary" tab, located at the top of the program.

    • 3). Check the box next to "Manually manage music" located under the "Options" heading, and then click the "Apply" button located in the bottom-right portion of the program. Manually managing your iPod is the quickest way to remove songs from your device, as it does not require you to re-sync your entire library.

    • 4). Click the triangle next to your iPod under the "Devices" heading and click "Music" to view the music library on your iPod Shuffle. To remove a song, select one with your mouse and then press the "Delete" or "Backspace" key on your keyboard.

    • 5). Un-check "Manually manage music" when you are finished removing songs to allow iTunes to auto-sync as normal.
