Genital Wart At-Home Treatment
- Vitamin E contains a high level of antioxidants, which when applied topically reduces the amount of free radicals within the skin cells and protects them from damage caused by toxins within the system. Vitamin E is available as an oral supplementation, yet for the treatment of genital warts the topical application will allow its nutrients to soak into the visible wart and reduce the outbreak. Ensure that the vitamin E lotion contains its naturally occurring alcohol for the strongest antioxidant benefits. Vitamin E lotions that contain acetate alcohol counterbalance the effectiveness of its antioxidant properties.
There are two effective ways to apply vitamin E to genital warts. The first is to purchase vitamin E lotions that contain natural alcohol ingredients, and apply a dime-sized amount directly onto the genital wart once per day. Always thoroughly wash hands after applying the lotion to the genitals to prevent spreading warts to other parts of the area; however, the HPV strain that is responsible for genital warts does not affect other parts of the body, such as the fingers.
The second method is to purchase vitamin E liquid capsules and puncture with a sterile safety pin. Spread the liquid directly on the wart once per day to shorten the duration of the outbreak and to soothe itching and pain. - When aloe vera is applied topically to the skin, it increases the blood circulation to the area. This increase in blood flow will shorten the duration of the outbreak by supplying vital immune system support to the infected skin cells. Its antioxidant qualities work to reduce free radicals that can damage the skin cells when affected with a wart. The overall effectiveness of aloe vera is due to its ability to increase the immune system's response to an infection or bacterial outbreak.
Apply a generous amount of aloe vera gel directly onto the genital wart or warts with your fingers. The total amount used will vary depending on the size and severity of the outbreak. Once applied to the wart, allow the aloe vera to dry before putting on undergarments. Repeat the application three times per day until the warts are no longer visible. Always wash hands after applying treatment to the warts to reduce the risk of accidentally spreading the outbreak.
