How to Clean Propane Hose Fittings

    • 1). Remove the fittings from the propane tank hose using a crescent wrench. Turn the wrench counterclockwise to loosen the hose fittings.

    • 2). Scratch any rust, dirt, or other debris off the fittings with a wire brush until the fittings are free of any residue.

    • 3). Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of white vinegar in a jar or pitcher. Soak the fittings in the jar or pitcher for at least one hour to loosen any dirt or debris.

    • 4). Scratch the fittings again with the wire brush to rid the fittings of any loosened dirt and debris. Wipe the fittings off with a clean cloth and allow them to air dry before reattaching them to the hose.
