How to Connect Coaxial Cable to HDTV

    • 1). Connect the coaxial cable to the wall jack by inserting the center pin into the jack hole and turning the nut until it threads on the jack until it's secure. If your television signal comes into your home through the frame of the house, such as a window frame or basement, then you already have a coaxial connection and can proceed with Step 2.

    • 2). Locate the "Cable/Antenna In" jack on the back of your HDTV. If you just connected one end of your coaxial cable to the wall, the jacks will look very similar.

    • 3). Take the end of the coaxial cable and insert the pin into the hole in the "Cable/Antenna In" port. Turn the nut until the coaxial cable is securely attached to the port.

    • 4). Turn on your TV and check your signal. The special HD channels will be designated by channel numbers such as "22.1" or "40.2," etc.
