How to Interface a Garmin eTrex Summit GPS With a Computer
- 1). Press the "Page" button on your GPS until you reach the "Menu" screen. Select "Setup" and press "Enter." Select "Interface" and press "Enter." Highlight "Garmin" and press "Enter." Your GPS is now configured to transfer data with a PC.
- 2). Download, install and open Garmin BaseCamp. A link to the software is provided in the Resources section of this article.
- 3). Connect your GPS to your PC with the RS-232 transfer cable.
- 4). Select your device in the library panel on the left side of the screen. Select the items on your device that you'd like to transfer to your computer. Select "Send To" from the "Edit" menu and select the list where you'd like to transfer the items. Click "OK."
- 5). Select the items in your library that you'd like to transfer to your device. Select "Send To" from the "Edit" menu and select your device. Click "OK."
