How to Block Friends From Seeing Particular Posts on Facebook

    • 1). Compose the post, such as a status update or note, exactly as you normally would.

    • 2). Click the icon shaped like a lock. Depending on what type of post you are composing, this may or may not include more information. If you are making a status update, for example, you just see a lock. If you are writing a note, you should see a lock, probably followed by the words "Friends Only," in the "Privacy" section.

    • 3). Click "Customize" in the list of options that appears.

    • 4). Type the name of a friend from whom you wish to hide your post in the "These people" field in the "Hide this from" section. When you see the name of the friend in question appear in the list below this box, click it. Repeat this process for each friend from which you wish to hide the post.

    • 5). Click the blue "Save Setting" button, and then click "Publish" or "Share" to make your post public.
