Bajaj Avenger - Cruise in Your Own Style
Bajaj Auto is one of the foremost and well-recognized names in the field of automobiles in India and elsewhere.
Earlier known for their reliable scooters, the Bajaj group has now made a name for itself in the area of motorbike manufacturing as well.
Consequently, Bajaj bikes are favored for their affordability, fuel-efficiency, good performance and low maintenance cost.

The most popular cruiser bike from Bajaj is the Bajaj Avenger.
The Avenger, a cruiser type motorcycle is one of the stylish bikes to roll out from the factory of Bajaj Auto.
Its design and style is highly inspired by its predecessor, the Bajaj Eliminator.
Originally, the Avenger was introduced as a 180 cc bike with a single cylinder, air-cooled Kawasaki engine.
However, as this version became successful, Bajaj increased the engine power of the bike and now the Avenger comes in 200 cc and 220 cc as well.
Bajaj realized the need to stamp their mark in the premium segment.
Hence, they replaced the single-cylindered Kawasaki engine with a more powerful, indigenously developed 178.
6 cc DTS-I engine.
It is the same power mill, which powers the sports bike, Bajaj Pulsar.
However, on the Avenger, it underwent some fine-tuning, to generate the higher torque demanded by a cruiser bike.
Consequently, the Bajaj Avenger was launched in June 2005.
It holds the distinction of being the first ever indigenously built cruiser motor bike by an Indian manufacturer.
In 2007, the makers undertook some changes on the Avenger and upgraded its engine capacity from to 200 cc.
The oil-cooled engine, a modified version of the engine that powered the Pulsar 200, made the Avenger more powerful than its earlier version.
The new edition of Avenger had a top speed of 114 kmph and it took only 5.
18 seconds to get to 60 kmph from idle.
The Avenger was revamped once again in 2010.
This time the changes were mainly of cosmetic nature, and the engine was left unchanged.
The fuel indicators and headlight were changed and the bike came in new colors Costing about INR 77605/-, the Avenger returns an average mileage of about 50 kmpl.
The most significant feature the Avenger is that it is highly comfortable for long rides, thanks to its powerful engine.
It is the lowest priced Cruiser in Indian two-wheeler market at present.
Although people say that it has not been upgraded for long, the bike lovers say that the Avenger is fashionable enough for them.
However, they agree that the low ground clearance makes the ride a bit uncomfortable on potholed Indian roads.
